Events

The report displays statistics on custom events.

How you apply the report depends on the type of the application and the data you send. For instance, you can estimate:
  • What events occur more often than others.
  • Popular scenarios for using the app.
  • Conversion rate for target events.
  • The stage in the user scenario that has the highest bounce rate.

To collect statistics on events, configure sending events in the app. For more information, see Sending your own events.

The report allows you to pull out certain users by defining data segments.

To build a report, you need to choose the time period, the audience segment, and the grouping type. By default, the report shows the number of events over one week, grouped by dates.

  2. Metrics
  3. Adding a comment
  4. Disabling events
  5. Data export

Report period

The report is formed for a specific time period. The default period is one week, but you can set the value manually. To set a range of dates, click the calendar drop-down . The selected time interval can be grouped by hours, days, weeks, or months.

Metrics

Use the element to select data for calculating metrics: users or devices. By default, the report shows data for users.

Note. Metrics for users and devices might not match if the app was running in the background while the event was being sent. In this case, the event is shown in metrics for devices, but not in metrics for users.
The following metrics are available for analysis:
Events
The number of events sent by devices.
Users
The number of unique event senders excluding background sessions.
Events per user
The average number of events per user. The metric is calculated relative to the number of all active users for the period.
% of all users
The percentage of users with the event. The metric is calculated relative to the number of all active users for the period.

  2. In the Events collection block, select the Collecting disabled mode.

Data export

You can export data by choosing an item from the Export dropdown list above the chart. The data is exported based on the selected report settings: segmentation, grouping, and time period.

The dropdown list contains the following elements:

  • Export as CSV — Exports the data from the table in the CSV format.
  • Chart as PNG — Exports the chart image in the PNG format.
  • Chart as CSV — Exports the data from the chart in the CSV format.
  • Copy table API request — Displays the query text for exporting data from the table using the Reporting API. You can use this query to build your own dashboard or create automated data export scripts.
Note. If you are getting the text of the query for the first time, make sure that the browser doesn't block the pop-up authorization window. In the authorization window, allow AppMetrica to access the data.
