Commercial version of the JavaScript API

The Yandex.Maps Commercial API was created for commercial use in closed systems, applications, and software modules. The fee-based Maps API does not have the standard licensing restrictions, so it can be used for online transportation monitoring, in proprietary accounting and management systems, or for developing desktop applications.

The commercial license for the JavaScript API also covers the HTTP Geocoder service. When using the commercial version, you can increase the daily limit on requests to the geocoder and router (the free version is limited to 25,000 requests per day). The Static API and Search API are also available for commercial use.

The following restrictions are applied in the commercial version:

  • Only the “map” type is available for the map.
  • The map, routing, and geocoding are available only for the following countries: Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.

In all other aspects, the commercial version is the same as the free version 2.1.

To get started with the commercial API, you need to get a key in the Developers' Dashboard and sign an agreement with Yandex. After you request a key, you will get a message at your Yandex email address with an example of the license agreement. You can use the Developers' Dashboard to see the status and expiration date of your key, statistics for geocoder and router requests, and warnings if you exceed the request limit.
