Configuring desktop Turbo pages

Turning on advertising

To monetize descktop Turbo pages, you can add the Yandex advertising network blocks or ads from other systems using ADFOX.

Turbo pages support the following types of ad blocks:

Above/under header

On the desktop Turbo page, only one block can be placed above or under the header.

Limits: up to 250 pixels high.

On the background (branding)

Ads that take up the entire background.

Only the ADFOX block is supported.

Follow these steps to turn on ads:

Step 1. Creating an ad block

To create an ad block, do the following:
  1. Open the Yandex advertising network interface.
  2. Create an ad block taking restrictions into account. When creating the adblock, choose the Turbo on desktop section.
  3. Copy the ID of the created block and use it when turning on ads. ID has the R-A-123456-7 format.

Step 2. Adding and checking

Attention. When you connect YAN ad blocks, their format is validated. If the block size does not fit, the ad isn't displayed.

The ADFOX formats aren't validated. Debug the ad display yourself before you turn the display of desktop Turbo pages.

To connect an ad block:

  1. In Yandex.Webmaster, go to the Turbo pages → Settings → Advertising page and turn on the Desktop option.
  2. Enter the block ID or code in the field.
  3. Save changes.
  4. Check the ad block display in the example.

Configuring CSS

CSS for desktop Turbo pages is configured the same way as for the mobile ones. For more information, see Configuring CSS.

Search settings

The search block is displayed in the upper-right corner of the desktop page.

When sending a request, the user is redirected to the search results page. The page must be located on your domain.

To specify the URL of the search results page:
  1. In Yandex.Webmaster, open the Turbo pages → Settings → Search page.
  2. In the GET field, specify the page URL. For example, https://mysite.ru/search/?name={text}, where name is a query parameter that passes the query.
  3. Save changes.
  4. Check how the search is working.

Setting up columns

A desktop Turbo page has a three column layout:
  • Related articles from the automatic recommendations feed and an ad block are displayed in the left column. The column is fixed on the page.
  • The main content is in the center.
  • The right column features the ad block. The column is fixed on the page.

To configure the display of columns:
  1. In Yandex.Webmaster, go to the Turbo pages → Settings → Turbo on desktop page.
  2. In the Columns block, choose the number of columns. Possible values:
    • 1 — Only the central column is displayed.
    • 2 — Only the central and the right columns are displayed.
    • 3 — All columns are displayed.
      Note. The number of columns can be less than the one selected in the settings. If the screen resolution is small, two or one column will be displayed.
  3. Save changes.
  4. Check the columns display in the example.
