Autoparsing algorithm and turning on Turbo pages

Attention. Autoparsing of Turbo pages is in beta mode and is available only for some sites added to Yandex.Webmaster. If Yandex.Webmaster doesn't show the Autoparsing block on the Data sources page, you can't turn on Autoparsing for your site.

Turbo pages are generated for the sites that already appear in Yandex search results.

The Autoparsing algorithm

Turbo pages are created in several steps:
  1. Collecting and processing the site content.

The information about the site content is collected by the Yandex main indexing robot. The robot crawls the site pages with a certain frequency and loads the data into its database. Then this data is processed by a special algorithm.

  2. Data check for Turbo page generation.

The processed information is checked for compliance with the Yandex quality standards. The moderators check if the main content of the source page is present in its Turbo version. This means that the Turbo pages might not be generated for site pages.

When Turbo pages are formed, the Autoparsing block appears on the Turbo pages → Data sources page in Yandex.Webmaster.

Connection

To turn on Turbo pages, follow these steps:

Step 1. Checking example Turbo pages

  1. Go to the Turbo pages → Data sources page.
  2. In the Autoparsing section, click the Examples button. A window will open with several examples of Turbo pages generated for your site.

You can change the page header appearance, edit CSS styles and add extra elements. For more information, see Additional settings.

Note.

If you are already sending an RSS feed for Turbo page generation, Autoparsing can form the missing pages automatically.

If one site page has two Turbo versions (one from the RSS feed and one that was automatically generated), the priority is given to the version generated via the RSS feed.

Step 2. Installing the web analytics tag

To install the web analytics tag, do the following:
  1. Go to the Turbo pages → Settings page in Yandex.Webmaster.
  2. In the Tags section add the web analytics system and specify the tag ID.
Supported web analytics systems:
Yandex.Metrica

Tag number (for example, 123456). Learn more about how to view statistics on Turbo pages in the Yandex.Metrica help.

Use the same tag on the site and on its Turbo pages to manage statistics easily.

LiveInternet

If the tag is installed on one site, don't fill in this field. If the tag is installed on multiple sites, enter the tag name (for example, example-host).

Google Analytics Tracking ID (for example, UA-12340005-6).
Mail.RU Rating The numeric tracking ID (for example, 123456).
Rambler Top 100
Mediascope (TNS) Project ID tmsec with the “- turbo” ending. For example, if the example_total tag is installed for the regular site pages, then specify example_total-turbo for the Turbo pages.
More

If your web analytics system supports installation as a one-pixel image, you can connect it to the Turbo page.

You can also include additional parameters in the URL to send them to the web analytics system:
  • {referrer} — Referer.
  • {referrerStarsEscaped} — Referer for Mediascope (with escaped character *), to connect this system without specifying the ID.
  • {pageTitle} — Page title.
  • {originalURL} — The original page URL.
  • {screenWidth} — The screen width.
  • {screenHeight} — The screen height.
  • {random} — Pseudorandom number (a new value is generated for each occurrence in the string).
  • {requestId} — Request ID (one per page).
  • {clientId} — Client ID (one per user's browser).

Example:

http://some.doma.in/{screenWidth}*{clientId}/{random}/{originalURL}?title={pageTitle}

Also, you can send information about tags in the RSS channel. For more information, see Connecting web analytics.

Step 4. Turning on Turbo pages

  1. Go to the Turbo pages → Data sources page.
  2. In the Autoparsing section, switch the option to On. The changes are applied within a day.

If you post to Yandex Zen and your site has Turbo pages, they may appear in Yandex Zen instead of the previous page versions.

If you added the primary domain and a subdomain of the site to Yandex.Webmaster, there are several ways to show Turbo pages:

The Turbo pages are turned on for the primary domain
The option is automatically turned on for a subdomain if it has Turbo pages generated.
The Turbo pages are turned on only for a subdomain
The option is active only for the subdomain.

When new pages appear on your site and the Yandex robot finds out about these changes, Turbo versions can be generated for the new pages.
