Connecting the ads

To monetize Turbo pages, you can add the Yandex advertising network blocks or ads from other systems using ADFOX.

Turbo pages support the following types of ad blocks:
Ad block above the header
Attention. Only the Yandex advertising network blocks can be placed above the header.

Adaptive banner above the page header that takes 100% of width and 70 pixels of height.

If you connect the block above the header and the automatic recommendations feed, ads will be displayed before every new page of the feed.

Ad block in the content

An ad block that can be placed on the page manually or automatically.

When using automatic placement, the number of ads and the best places are chosen automatically depending on the page length.

InPage video ads

Banner that plays a video ad. Placed on the page automatically.

The steps to turn on ads:

Step 1. Creating an ad block

The following ad block types are available for Turbo pages:

To create an ad block, follow these steps:
  1. Open the Yandex advertising network interface.
  2. Go to page Products → RTB blocks page and click Add an RTB block.
  3. On the second step (Site version) choose Turbo pages and click Next.
  4. Customize Yandex.Direct ad formats and media advertising. More about RTB block formats in the YAN documentation.
  5. Configure the strategy and click Create. Read more about the strategy types in the YAN documentation.
  6. Copy the ID of the created block and use it when connecting ads. ID has the R-A-123456-7 format.

To display more than one ad per page, create multiple ad blocks. You can duplicate ad blocks.

Step 2. Connecting and checking

You can place ad blocks on the page manually or automatically.

To use automatic ad placement, follow these steps:

  1. In Yandex.Webmaster, go to the Turbo pages → Settings → Advertising page.
  2. In the Ad blocks in your content section, click the Add button and choose the ad block type.
  3. Depending on the block type, enter the block ID in the YAN field or the embed code in the ADFOX field.
  4. If you add several ad blocks, put them in the display priority order using the icon. The order will be taken into account when placing ads.
  5. Save the changes.
Note. If you configured the ad placement manually before (passing the ad information in the RSS feed), the ad settings in Yandex.Webmaster aren't taken into account. To add ads to Yandex.Webmaster, follow these steps:
  1. Enter the information on the Turbo pages → Settings page.
  2. Delete the turbo:adNetwork element and its contents from the RSS feed.
  3. Wait until the RSS file is updated in Yandex.Webmaster.
